  1. 16.3.2026 | The EU Environment Council will meet in Brussels on Tuesday 17 March. Minister of Climate and the Environment Sari Multala will represent Finland at the meeting.   2. 16.12.2022 | I december genomfördes ytterligare en Medborgarpulsen-enkät på uppdrag av statsrådet. Under denna omgång var stressen bland unga större än någonsin tidigare. Sammanlagt 49 procent av respondenterna i åldern 15–29 år uppgav att de upplever ganska mycket eller väldigt mycket stress. Andelen unga som upplever mycket stress har ungefär fördubblats sedan hösten 2020.

  3. 17.3.2025 | Finland participates in an EU project that aims to set up a European Digital Infrastructure Consortium where the focus is on mobility and logistics. The Ministry of Transport and Communications will inform Parliament about the next steps and timetable towards the Consortium with a Europe communication on 17 March 2025. At the first stage Finland seeks an observer status in the Consortium proposed to be set up.

  4. 7.11.2024 | Heads of state or government from across Europe discussed international security challenges at the meeting of the European Political Community in Budapest, Hungary, on Thursday 7 November. Prime Minister Petteri Orpo represented Finland at the meeting. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy was also in attendance.

  5. 8.5.2026 | In his EU policy speech at Aalto University on Friday 8 May, Prime Minister Petteri Orpo stressed that Europe and the European Union are still the best guarantee of security for citizens in an unstable global situation. He noted, however, that Europe needs to be much stronger in order to defend its values.

  8. 16.12.2022 | In the December round of the Citizens’ Pulse Survey commissioned by the Government, young people reported the highest levels of stress recorded in the survey to date. All in all, 49 per cent of 15–29-year-olds reported experiencing fairly or very high levels of stress. The proportion of young people experiencing a great deal of stress has approximately doubled since early autumn 2020.

  9. 18.12.2025 | Resultaten från den internationella undersökningen Talis 2024 (Teaching and Learning International Survey) som publicerades tidigare i höst har nu kompletterats med Finlands nationella rapporter. Finland deltog i undersökningens huvudstudie som riktade sig till lärare och rektorer i årskurs 7–9 samt i en tilläggsstudie vars målgrupp var personalen inom småbarnspedagogiken och förskoleundervisningen.   10. 2.12.2025 | I OECD:s undersökning utmärker sig den finländska småbarnspedagogiken av ett aktivt samarbete med familjerna. I Finland satsas det mer på kommunikation och evenemang för familjer än i de flesta andra länder som deltog i undersökningen. I Finland är stressnivåerna hos personalen och ledningen inom småbarnspedagogiken och förskoleundervisningen lägre än i de övriga deltagarländerna. Bristen på personal är den största orsaken till stress för yrkesgruppen i Finland.

The conclusions, prepared by Finland’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union, set out the maritime policy priorities for the EU. In Finland, staff communicate and organise events for families more often than in most other participating countries.   19. 18.12.2025 | The international results of the OECD Teaching and Learning International Survey (TALIS) 2024 were published earlier this autumn. They have now been supplemented with Finland’s national results. Finland participated in the main TALIS 2024, which focused on lower secondary school teachers and principals, and in the TALIS Starting Strong module, which targeted staff in early childhood education and care and pre-primary education.

  20. 8.1.2026 | On Thursday 8 January, the President of the Republic and the Ministerial Committee on Foreign and Security Policy discussed progress in the Ukraine peace process, including the results of the meeting of the Coalition of the Willing in Paris on 6 January. As part of the Coalition, Finland stresses the importance of strong security guarantees in achieving a sustainable solution. The United States’ participation in Ukraine’s security guarantees is vital.
