The Talent Boost Summit in Tampere on 7 November 2018 brings together people from business life, higher education, civil society and central government – and international talents, of course. The summit programme and speakers have now been published. Join us!

What is the significance of international talents for Finland’s competitiveness? How can we direct the stream of international talents towards Finland? How can the public and private sectors work together in attracting talents? What kinds of experiences do businesses have of international recruitment?

These and other questions are on the agenda at the Talent Boost Summit taking place in Tampere on 7 November 2018. The programme and speakers are now available online. There are number of interesting speakers especially from the business world, including Yacine Samb, Product Marketing Manager at Google, and Miriam Holstein, Managing Director at Bayer Nordic. Businesses will get practical tips on international recruitment processes and how to make their workplaces more attractive to international talents outside Finland.

What is Talent Boost?

Talent Boost is an intersectoral action programme for the Finnish Government that collaborates with the biggest growth centres in the country. It was launched in 2017 at the Government’s mid-term policy review session.

“Global competition for talents is increasing, and Finland has joined the race later than many other countries. It is high time we did something about it now that we have skills shortages across the country and in many sectors,” says Laura Lindeman, Senior Specialist at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment.

“International talents are primarily drawn by interesting jobs and companies and new career opportunities. However, there are other pull factors, too, such as attractive living environment, smooth administrative services, services for spouse and family and a climate of openness, that play a key role when international talents are deciding whether to work in Finland or elsewhere,” Lindeman says.
