The 4T’s as the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the Police's main theme at the Travel Fair 2016
Press release 11/2016
20 January 2016
The Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the Finnish Police will have a joint stand at the Travel Fair 2016 organised at the Expo and Convention Centre in Helsinki on 21–24 January 2016. Stand number 6e149 will present services for travellers provided by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the Police and provide information on travel safety.
The renewed travel safety website matkustusturvallisuus.fi, where the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Madventures have collected information on the four T's of travel safety, or
- travel advice,
- travel notification,
- travel insurance and
- travel documents,
will also be presented at the fair.
The website also has a tongue-in-cheek test to see what kind of a traveller you are. By sharing your test results in social media, you will participate in a prize draw.
The Ministry for Foreign Affairs will launch its new Web Consul service at the fair. The Web Consul can be found on Facebook. It responds to people's questions about travel safety and provides advice for travellers in problem situations.
Specialists from the Foreign Ministry can also be consulted at the stand. Visitors who are willing to learn about other travellers' stories or who want to share their own experiences can do so at the Maailma yllättää (The world surprises) map service.
The Police will remind visitors at the fair that a passport application may now be submitted online. The Police will bring their own specialist to the stand, and there will also be a policeman dressed as a lion to entertain child visitors. Visitors are invited to take part in brainstorming ideas for new passport images at the fair.
