Minister Stubb to visit the European Parliament in Strasbourg
Minister for European Affairs and Foreign Trade Alexander Stubb will visit the European Parliament in Strasbourg on Tuesday 27 September. The aim of the visit is to meet leaders of the European Parliament and of the key political groups and Members of European Parliament across country and party divides and to discuss questions that are important for Finland.
During the working visit, Minister Stubb will meet, for example, President of the European Parliament Jerzy Buzek, leaders of the two largest political groups, Joseph Daul (European People's Party) and Martin Schultz (Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats), Chair of the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection Malcolm Harbour, Chair of the Committee on Budgets Alain Lamassoure and Finnish Members of European Parliament.
Topics of the meetings will include key EU issues, the debt crisis, economic policy coordination, trade talks and the EU’s Financial Perspective for 2014-2020.
