Kauppapolitiikka magazine: The limitless potential of space

Space offers almost limitless possibilities for business and innovation. The theme article of the latest issue of the Kauppapolitiikka trade magazine explains the diverse dimensions of the space economy and looks at its growing importance for Finnish businesses.

In the interview section, Pia Santavirta, the CEO of the state-owned investment company Tesi, reminds investors of the potential of domestic growth entrepreneurship. Many promising companies have come under foreign ownership at a crucial phase in their growth. This is why Santavirta is quickly assembling a group of investors to invest in Finnish companies and help them continue generating wellbeing for Finland.

Unpredictable world politics has given fresh impetus to decades-long trade negotiations, and the European Union has recently struck several trade deals. Director Timo Vuori from the Confederation of Finnish Industries (EK) says that the new trade agreements will spur export growth even before the gradual reduction of tariffs.

Efforts are also being made to strengthen economic sustainability and the security of supply by increasing European semiconductor production. The trade policy article reminds us that setting targets is easy but putting them into practice is much more complicated.
