Finland and Spain agree on cooperation in digitalisation

First Deputy Prime Minister of Spain, Minister for Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation Nadia Calviño visited Finland on Monday, 27 September 2021, at the invitation of Minister of Transport and Communications Timo Harakka.

The topics of the discussions between the First Deputy Prime Minister Calviño and Minister Harakka included data economy and cooperation in the digitalisation and cyber security sectors. The Ministers agreed that cooperation between Finland and Spain in digitalisation matters be promoted and strengthened by a memorandum of understanding.

"I am very pleased with the cooperation that we agreed on with Minister Calviño. During her visit, she familiarised herself extensively with Finnish expertise and technology companies," Minister Harakka says.

In addition to Minister Harakka, First Deputy Prime Minister Calviño met Minister of Finance Annika Saarikko and Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Ville Skinnari.

First Deputy Prime Minister Calviño took part in a round table discussion with Finnish technology companies. The discussion was organised by Business Finland. She also visited Maria 01 startup campus.
